Clay-a stiff,sticky layer in the soil,yellow red or blush gray.Retains lots of water.Silt-Sandy,clay material dark sand color.Feels gritty and retains water good.Sand Gritty,light yellow and doesn’t retain water.Topsoil-Top layer of soil.Mushy,brownish black and retains water well.Gravel-Gritty,barf color sometimes gray and doesn’t retain water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
