1. The Bid § First of all I would like to welcome you all. We are delighted to have you here to participate in the first Integrated Infrastructure Network symposium. Thank you for coming, particularly those who have travelled long distances.   Before we hear from individual network members, I’m just going to run through a few slides for the benefit of anyone who wasn’t able to take part in our online event earlier this year.

The Bid Climate change: Understanding Systemic Shocks in Integrated Infrastructures (Responding to Climate Change theme) Develop new and robust international collaborative research network Prepare chapters for an edited book Create a ‘Scoping Framework’ tool to help cities ask pertinent questions about their infrastructure resilience Submit project grant proposals to national funding bodies to further our research in this area (e.g. European Research Council, Horizon 2020, Innovate UK, and the British Academy etc.) Increase early career researcher mobility and training, facilitated through network events and by exchange visits between researchers based in the UK, New Zealand, China, Canada, Norway and South Africa

5. Experience of the WUN Process

Experience of the WUN Process Letter of intent process – allow lots of time! Individual WUN Coordinators at each institution very helpful, but it takes time to get things signed off Funding very helpful in developing collaboration, particularly for early career researchers Definitely worth pursuing
