Overview of Current Conditions Central Contra Costa County Walnut Creek, Danville, Lafayette, Orinda, Moraga & Unincorporated Population: 196,000 2,000 commercial accounts 65,000 residential & 560 MF accounts

Overview of Current Conditions Organics Services in Central Contra Costa: Commercial food scraps program (and recycling) provided at no additional cost (included in garbage rates) Anaerobic Digestion program, in partnership with EBMUD digesters in Oakland, CA 64-gal carts or 1- or 2-yd food scrap dumpsters Yard waste organics program also available (carts)

AB 1826 Implementation Steps Commercial food scraps program – already in place (since 2008) Identify potential and existing customers Send AB 1826 notification postcard and letters Follow-up business by business Partner with local Chambers of Commerce’s to publicize
