Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 March 21, 2013 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

So Easy to Add a New Slide Powerpoint tells you where to type Works just like MS Word Anyone can create a simple presentation Good place to show how to change colors, using the Design Tab. Switch from Verve to Oriel and watch how all the graph/chart colors change throughout the slides. Try changing to a new theme like Concourse and not only do colors change but slide format changes as well. Switch to Opulent and you will need to adjust your slides to accommodate the stripe down the right side. You can also change fonts – you may need to make adjustments to your slides as the font size changes. Switch to Civic and then to Equity. You can see the text is smaller in the tables.

More Text Features Shadow fonts Strikethrough fonts Use Shape Fill to change the color of the text box. Shape Outline adds an outer edge Shape Effects can add a glow Both the Shadow Fonts and the Strikethrough Fonts are available on the font section of the Home tab. The Shadow Fonts aren’t very visible with a smaller font size. Shape Fill, Outline, & Effects are under the drawing section of the Home tab.

3-D Effects Glow Text box Transform Relection Fun with WordArt 3-D Effects Glow Text box Add WordArt from the Insert tab. Once WordArt is added, a Drawing Tools – Format tab appears. Use this time to manipulate the WordArt. All of the WordArt on this page was created with the WordArt Styles section. Text Fill, Outline, & Effects changes the text itself. The Shape Styles section (Shape Fill, Outline, & Effects) will change the text box around the text, as with Text box. Transform Relection

Animations Slide Transitions Transition Sounds Custom Animation Apply to all OR apply to one slide Transition Sounds Use sparingly Custom Animation Text and images can be layered in One line at a time Custom animation – select the image or text box and click Add Effect. There should be numbers running down the left side of your text on the slide. This shows the order in which the text will enter. Everything with a number 1 will enter first and it will enter all at the same time. 2 will be next, etc. To break apart or combine the text, choose the effect and click on Content Placeholder – Effect Options – Text Animation. The Group Text area indicates how many lines will enter at one time. Each indentation is a level. Add an animation for the image and it is numbered after the text. Click and drag or use the Re-Order button to change the line-up.
