SJECCD Transfers to CSU and UC District/Degree 2012-13 2013-14 2014-15 2015-16 2016-17 San Jose-Evergreen Community College District CSU Transfers 629 788 784 755 782 UC Transfers 95 97 93 86 107* * Only Fall 2016 Transfers, Spring 2017 is not available Overall the District saw a 3.5% increase in transfer to CSU from last year to this year, most of that increase can be attributed to Evergreen Valley College. The number of transfer from San Jose City College to CSU stayed stable from last year to this year. UC only has Fall 2016 transfers available, which is actually the bulk of their transfers. Overall the District saw an 24% increase from 2015-16 to 2016-17. This increase can be equally attributed to both colleges, San Jose City College had 48 transfer to UC (44%) and Evergreen Valley College had 59 transfers, therefore making 55 % of the contribution. Transfers San Jose State University As a district, we transferred 523 students in 2016-17 to San Jose State University, an increase of almost 10% from last year. Over the past decade, Evergreen Valley College transfers more students to San Jose State University than San Jose City College. But, the 10% increase of transfers was evident at both colleges. Most popular programs to transfer for EVC students last year was Accountancy, Psychology and Criminology. For San Jose City College, students tend to choose Management, Accountancy and Social Science programs at SJSU. We are still the community college that sends most transfer to San Jose State University, De Anza being the second largest contributor to transfers to San Jose Sate University. 2015-16 SJECC District Transfers to Regional UC’s Los Angeles - 13 San Diego - 13 Riverside - 2 Irvine – 2 Santa Barbara - 1 29 22 4 A handful of student are going into Berkeley’s Biomedical Sciences program. 22 2015-16 SJECC District Transfers to Regional UC’s

UC Acceptance Rate Districts 2012-13 2013-14 2014-15 2015-16 2016-17 Percent of students applied and accepted San Jose-Evergreen CCD 71% 69% 67% 68% 74% Foothill-De Anza CCD 70% 75% West Valley-Mission CCD An important part of our mission is to prepare students for transfer, and therefore looking at our acceptance rates can be telling. Compared to nearby districts our rate holds up, and it also seemed to have increased over time. For 2016-17, SJECCD has the highest acceptance rates for African-American (77%) and Hispanic (75%) students when comparing to Foothill-DeAnza CCD and West-Valley Mission CCD (62%-66%).
