Unit 1 Terms Character: Personal guidelines developed as a part of the socialization process that serves as a person’s judge for every situation. Dependability: A trait of a person who is reliable or whom you can put your trust in. Empathy: The ability to understand what someone else is experiencing.

Goals: Something a person wants to have or to achieve and is willing to work for. Integrity: Firm adherence to a code of moral values Long-Term Goals: Objectives that will be achieved over a long period of time

Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Abraham Maslow: was an American psychologist who was best known for creating Maslow's hierarchy of needs, a theory of psychological health on fulfilling innate human needs in priority (so that one can achieve self-Actualization, your BEST self)

Collage Activity Group activity – 3-4 per group Look through old magazines and find pictures that illustrate the needs that correspond to each hierarchy level. Cut out these pictures and glue them to a separate piece of paper in the form of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs pyramid. The finished collage should depict at least 2 different needs for each level of the hierarchy.
