FORCES A force is a push or a pull on an object. Every force has strength, magnitude and direction. Forces acting on a stationary object can set the object.
Forces and Motion. Force A Force is a push or pull on an object. Forces have a direction. Forces have a strength (magnitude) and are measured in Newtons.
Friction and Gravity. 1. What is friction? The force that two surfaces exert on each other when they rub against each other.
Define a force. What unit are forces measured in? How can we measure a force?

Forces Revision

Name as many forces as you can

Force Description When 2 things rub against each other. Friction caused when something moved through air Friction caused when something moved through water. Pushes things up in a fluid Pulls everything down to the centre of the earth. Attracts charged things. Magnets attract magnetic materials. Gravity Static electricity Upthrust Water resistance Air resistance Friction Magnetism

How do we measure force? Find a diagram of the apparatus used and state the units used.

In pairs, look at the images on the worksheet. 5mins In pairs, look at the images on the worksheet. Draw on any forces arrows acting on the objects Label these forces Write whether these forces are balanced or unbalanced.

What is the equation for calculating speed? Give some possible units for speed.
