Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment: When a provider requests to see a patient on a recurring basis, Epic can easily set up any number of recurring appointments. Start by selecting the visit type and provider. If you know this is going to be a recurring appointment, click the Recur checkbox. You can also make any existing appointment recurring from the appointment desk by right clicking on the appointment and selecting Recur from the displayed menu. Enter the date and select the Search button.

Epic Advanced Appointments Recur Appointments The Recur Appointments window will open. From this screen, you will specify the appointment specific details regarding time period and number of occurrences.

Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment Period You can create multiple periods of time for a recurring series. Time Period Choose the time period of Daily, Weekly, Monthly Multiples per Day Choose the number of occurrences per day. Frequency Indicate the number of days to repeat the occurrence. Search Start Date Specify the first date you would like to start searching for an available appointment. Occurrences to Schedule You can choose an end date or select the number of total occurrences

Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment : You check the “Assign referrals from first occurrence to all occurrences” if needed. A hyperlink to the Period Summary is on the top right. This patient is set up for weekly appointments on Tuesday between 110/16/12 and 12/25/12

Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment: Once all the selections have been made, click on the “Search” button to have Epic display the recommended solution.

Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment : The Recur Recommended Solution screen displays all appointment dates/times This screen enables you to adjust any appointment date/time by selecting the “Previous”, “Next”, “Date/Time”, “Manual”, “Skip” options. “Match Remaining” allows you to take the changes made to one occurrence and match the remaining occurrences without affecting any earlier occurrences. Also displayed are the number of occurrences to the left of the appointment and the visit type.

Epic Advanced Appointments Recurring Appointment : Click Accept and follow the normal scheduling pathways to complete this appointment process.
