Can It Be Tested? Murray’s sugar free cookies taste as good as Chips Ahoy. The Hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum clears carpets better than any other leading brand. Gillette razors are the “Best a Man Can Get.” Huggies Supreme diapers are 5 times stretcher than Pampers. Red Bull gives you wings Gillette clear gel anti persperant gives you 24 hours of wetness protection. Splenda gives you zero boundaries.

Experiment: Claim: Our Styrofoam cups keep your coffee hotter longer than your own mug. A Styrofoam company claims that they have cups that work exceptionally well. They say that that they work even better then a ceramic mug. It is your job to test if this claim is true.

Claim: Our Styrofoam cups keep your coffee hotter longer than your own mug.

Ideas of how you could run the experiment. Heat up water on a hot plate. When the water reaches 90°C), pour 100mL of water (must the same in both cups at the start to be fair) into a ceramic mug and a Styrofoam cup. The initial temperatures will be taken. The water temperature will be recorded every two minutes for a period of 10 minutes. After ten minutes the cup with the warmest water is the winner.
