The mission of IEEE-USA is to recommend policies and implement programs specifically intended to serve and benefit the members, the profession, and the public in the United States in appropriate professional areas of economic, ethical, legislative, social and technology policy concern. One Objective: Develop products and services that support the lifelong professional development and career vitality needs of the IEEE’s U.S. members and other technical professionals.

Members are able to use this tool to negotiate better salaries with their employers. The Calculator allows you to search on a variety of fields, including geographic, level of education, industry, years of employment, level of management experience, etc. Based on current IEEE-USA Salary Survey data, the Service provides you with a salary history; updateable salary survey; and individual salary comparator for each year that you have completed the Salary Survey. Now you can keep track of how your salary tracks your career progress, how it measures up to your peers', and what effect contemplated job or career moves can have on your compensation. IEEE-USA sells a more extensive salary database service to Human Resource & Engineering managers so they can set appropriate salary levels for their companies. The revenue generated from the employer products allows us to offer the salary calculator to our U.S. member for free as long as they fill out the annual on line survey.
