Next Generation Audi S4 Switches To Turbo Instead Of Supercharger

Officialy the last Audi S4 was introduced with supercharged 3.0 TFSI for better fuel efficiency.

Audi has unveiled its next- generation S4, which ditches the supercharger in favor of 3.0 TFSI turbocharging.

Audi S4 runs to 62 miles per hour takes just 4.7 seconds, versus 4.9 seconds for the current sedan to reach 60 mph.

Now Audi has a eight- speed automatic gearbox called tiptronic with a new transmission.

Specification Of Turbo Engine

The biggest change in the engine of Audi S4 is turbo instead of a supercharger.

Now engine produces 354 horsepower, 21hp more than the supercharged.

The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Power is sent to all wheel via Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive.

Self-locking differential sends 60% power to the rear axle, and 40% to the front to create a rear-biased feel.

Also sometimes it sends 70% of power to the front axle & up to 85% to the rear, as required to achieve the best traction.

Sporty And HiTech

Audi launches the new S4 with powerful engines, an extensive package of the latest technologies.

S4 model comes with a newly developed V6 engine having petrol direct injection & turbocharging.

The 3.0 TFSI has an output of 260 kW its 500 Nm of torque, and available across a wide range of speeds from 1,300 to 4,500 rpm.

Engine can accelerate Audi S4 from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and the electronic limiter kicks in at 250 km/h.

S4 consumes less than 7.4 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers with 170 grams CO2 per kilometer.

Eight-speed Tiptronic transmission is efficient and provides fast and spontaneous gear changes.

Whenever the driving situation allows, it switches to freewheeling to save fuel.

S4 handle corners of all kinds with aplomb – whether on a racetrack or a mountain pass.

The suspension on the front and rear axle precisely separates the longitudinal and transverse forces.

Standard 18 inch wheels in 5-twin-spoke star design roll on 245/40 size tires.

A 19-inch alternative is available from quattro GmbH. Powerful, stable brakes are fitted on the large wheels.
