Presentation transcript:

Preventive maintenance is an effective way to ensure your vehicle is running well on the road.

Moreover, it also lets you avoid costly repairs and keeps your car as safe as possible, helping you to avoid accidents while driving.

Here are some of the best preventive measures you can take to make sure that you stay safe on the road.

1.Tires

Tires are the only form of contact between the car and the road, so maintaining the tires is a must as they face the brunt of bad surface & weather conditions.

Tires are the first line of defense against any accident and it is important to carefully inspect them for any issues that could cause a sudden blowout.

You must inspect your tires for uneven wear, cracks in the sidewall, or other issues that will require rotation, alignment, or replacement.

Tire pressure is also one of the important aspects of tire maintenance as too much or too little can cause premature wear of tires.

2. Brakes

Brakes are the first and foremost thing when it comes to the safety of the occupants of a car.

Fluid leaks and other problems associated with brakes could result in a brake failure and a potentially deadly accident.

The easiest way to determine if there is an issue with the brakes is if you experience a pitched squealing when you press your brake pedal to stop the car.

3. Steering & suspension

The suspension system comprises of the shock absorbers, springs, sway bars, and the parts of the vehicle that connect the wheel to the car.

The suspension system creates a smooth and comfortable ride for drivers, thus making the car easier to control and safer to handle.

The responsibility of the suspension and steering system is to maintain all four wheels firmly planted to the ground so that the braking & acceleration forces can be properly applied.

Normal wear and tear loosen the suspension & steering system, but it can also be damaged if you hit a big pothole, which knocks the alignment out of whack.

4. Check your lights

Having lights that work is crucial for safe driving as because if you can't see where you are going, or alert other drivers of your next move, you are putting your life at risk.

Headlights, taillights, and turn signals are also critical to avoid accidents as they give an indication to the other drivers on your next move.

Burnt-out bulbs, misaligned head lights, and malfunctioning brake lights are an invitation for trouble when driving at night or in poor weather conditions.

Before going out always inspect that all your lights are functioning properly.

5. Windshield wipers

Driving safely is impossible if you don't have a clear visibility of the road, so replacing the wipers when they are not functioning properly is important.

The replacement of your windshield wiper depends upon the weather. Also, it is best to replace the wipers at least once a year.

Conclusion These are some of the tips that will help you in preventing an accident, also it is important to maintain the other car parts.

You need to change the oils regularly, inspect the car for any leaks, and should always stick to the maintenance schedule recommended by the dealer.

THANK YOU!
