What is Word A computer program created by Microsoft as part of the Office Suite. (Including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access) A Word Processing program. Easier to store documents, edit and make corrections than the typewriter.

Word Basics MS Word creates files called Word Documents or just Documents Files created in Word 2007 have the extension.docx by default(Previous versions used.doc) Example: The file name of my resume could be DanResume09.docx These files can be printed or ed to another person who can open it only if they also have MS Word.
Opening Word Find and click the program in the Start Menu -OR- Double Click on a shortcut to the program -OR- Double Click on a Word Document.
