Safety Tips to Follow While Driving a Car

There is no better refreshment than driving your car with sheer pleasure.

Along with the thrill of enjoyment, it is equally important to consider the driving safety.

There are various risks which crop out from various factors that are associated with the driving of a car.

PERFORMANCE Consider the weather conditions

One must plan and drive a car depending on the weather conditions, especially in the harsh winter months.

During the winter, the roads are slippery and mostly covered with snow or ice.

Be it summer or winter, always check the tires are properly inflated and there are enough treads present for a strong grip.

All the lights of the car should be checked for proper functioning and also inspect the windshield wipers.

In the rainy hours, the drivers should drive the car at a reduced speed in order to prevent the risk of loss of control of the car due to hydroplaning.

The car should also be maintained a safe distance from other vehicles to avoid any collision due to the less friction on the roads.

Avoid hard braking and the chances of spinning out of the road.

Don't drink and drive

Never mix drinking and driving, as it increases the chances of an accident that may result in serious injury or loss of life.

Drinking impairs the person's visual acuity and importantly, the hand-eye coordination, making it difficult to control the car.

Due to poor reflexes, their concentration level decreases and cannot take the right decisions while driving on the road.

It's better to avoid excess drinking of alcohol and instead prefer the non- alcoholic drinks when you are attending a party alone.

In case, you are drunk, then never drive yourself and ask any friend or hire a driver to safely drop you at home.

Do not get distracted

The mobile phones are a major threat to a driver's ability to concentrate and safely drive the car.

While attending the calls or text messages, it's difficult to control the steering wheel in one hand and leads to poor handling of the car.

Use of hands-free devices can reduce the problem of one-hand steering control, but not the loss of focus due to the conversation.

The mobile phones are not the only distractions that occur while driving, the driver's mind can be easily diverted by anything on the road.

Take care of the kids on board as sometimes unknowingly, they create problems for the driver either by pulling the parking brake or handling the gear knob.

The drivers should commit themselves to driving and should not be carried away by the happenings in and around the car while on the road.
