Unit 1 What’s a computer?

Instructions: In your own words define computer. A computer is an electronic machine that helps people do different activities. For example, in a computer you can: Create documents Surf the internet Design posters Listen to music Send s Play games

Types of Computers Not all computers are the same. Look at the pictures. Can you name the different types of computers? Desktop computer: It’s big, heavy, and has different parts. Handheld computer: It’s small. It has a small pen. Not many people use it. Laptop computer: It’s one piece. It has a screen and a keyboard. It’s very popular.

Where can we use computers? People can use computers: In an office At school At home In a public space
