Zinc Powder

Zinc powder comes in the form of a bluish to blackish gray. It can provide the most admirable and amazing corrosion protection. It is a reactive metal and strong reducing agent. Due to its high versatility it is used in various industries. Zinc Powder is also known as Zinc Dust.

Zinc has a hexagonal crystal structure. Zinc is a fair conductor of electricity. It forms alloys easily with other metals. Zinc is a reactive metal. Zinc can react with acids, bases, and non-metals. It is about as reactive as aluminium and more reactive than most of the more common metals, such as iron, copper, nickel, and chrome.

Zinc Powder has high versatility and the special sacrificing process due to which it is used in various industries. Zinc-Rich Coatings have proven to be the brilliant method of protecting steel from corrosion due to the electrochemical procedure. Zinc Powder is great for eco-friendly construction and in making protective coatings for steel. It forms a layer on the surface of a metal with a thin coating of zinc and prevents it from corrosion. This layer prevents the impact of the aggressive component on the zinc and adds aesthetic value and offer better protection. To paint the big structures, like containers, marine tools, Zinc powder is the perfect option. Zinc Powder also helps in purifying a range of solutions, which contain the metals, like gold, copper, cadmium, and silver.

Zinc, be it in its powder form or other forms can be used in many areas. It can be used in the pipes of a pipe organ. It is used to galvanise other metals, such as iron, to prevent rusting. It is also used as an anode material in batteries. It is used in the Chemical Industries, Petroleum and Lubrication Industry, Paint / Coatings.

Zinc Powder is very useful to protect the steel from corrosion, to paint the big structures like containers, marine tools, and rigs. For painting the big bridges also, zinc-based powder paints are most helpful as in water, this particular coating remains insoluble. Zinc Powder is also useful in the production of nitrobenzene, as a polymerizing and catalyst agent and in the drugs manufacturing.
