Teaching Fiducial Marks TROI - 5700HL 3D SPI Series Teaching Fiducial Marks

To change the camera position use the “right mouse button” This video will demonstrate the basics on how to teach a fiducial mark within the SPI editor “Setting Fiducial Mark” window. To change the camera position use the “right mouse button” To highlight and select the fiducial use the “left mouse button” Use these three steps 1. “Move” 2. “Teach” 3. “Inspect” For more detail about each step please continue.

1. First select the “Teach” tab. After programming a new job file; you may be prompted that fiducial marks have failed. This is normal for the first time. We simply just need to teach and save them into the system. 2. Then select the “Fiducial” button.

Move to fiducial You should now be brought to the “Setting Fiducial Mark” window. Please notice the fiducial marks that were programmed during the creation of a new job are now listed in “Fiducial Information” area. 2. Then select the “Move” button to move to the fiducial area. Please continue…

Your objective is to surround the fiducial with the “BLUE” box. After selecting “move” the camera should auto adjust to the correct fiducial If not use the “right mouse button” to change the camera position. Remember that orientation does matter. Your fiducial marks must match the same orientation as programmed within the new job data for an accurate inspection Your objective is to surround the fiducial with the “BLUE” box. Then while holding the “left mouse button” drag the “Green” box over the fiducial mark; then hit teach. The next page will review this further.

The TROI SPI editor will inform you if fiducial marks need retaught. You will notice many different options for teaching a fiducial mark. Many may not be used depending on type of fiducial mark and quality. For example; use only the “Circle” pattern for a circle fiducial. Or “Cross” pattern for a cross like fiducial mark. If you have problems with teaching a fiducial try using the red,blue or top filters and click apply for a better image result as shown in the ROI threshold area. Also try using the slider located to the left of the image. After highlighting the fiducial mark with the “Green” box the correct area you should see the fiducial mark as shown here. Use the slider to adjust contrast till the cleanest possible image is shown then click “Teach” Repeat these steps for each fiducial mark; when done teaching click “Inspect” The TROI SPI editor will inform you if fiducial marks need retaught.
