Virtual Private Servers – Types of Virtualization platforms Virtual Private ServersVirtual Private Servers, popularly known as VPS is considered one of the best web hosting options for the beginners with limited hosting needs. VPS hosting comes with the advantages of the dedicated server at a very small price, this is the reason why, it is looked upon as the best web hosting option for the start ups. Dedicated server is divided into multiple sections which are shared with various users. With the help of virtualization, each partition on the server is isolated from the rest of others. So, each VPS section on the same server runs independently and users are free to choose their own applications and operating systems. Virtual Private Servers creates a Dedicated Hosting environment for each user on the shared physical server. This is why sometimes Virtual Private Servers is also known as Virtual dedicated server.

Different types of virtualization Platforms: Data Virtualization: Data Virtualization is the technology where data is stored in server in the same way as it is stored in its original location. The user is able to access information from different locations. Memory Virtualization: Virtualized memory is different from physical memory. All the RAM resources are pooled together from different networks in an aggregated way. Hardware Virtualization: With virtualization on hardware, the users can be able to run multiple operating systems. A single processor works as multiple systems simultaneously. It increases server efficiency and cut down on hardware expenses and management costs too.

Different types of virtualization Platforms: Software Virtualization: Virtualization in software and applications create different virtual environment with single operating system that allows running of different applications in separate environment. Storage Virtualization: Storage Virtualization is the technique of abstract storage, replacing the physical storage. It combines the storage from different network storage devices which makes it work like a single storage system. It is also known as logical storage. Network Virtualization: An abstract layer of virtualized network combines hardware and software network resources and multiple network subnets, creating a single system.
