Nature of Insurance Contract
Presentation transcript:

When faced with challenges, it’s usual for us to run to Mr.Google and type in our issue to find solutions to the problem. It comes with advantages such as convenience of having answers at the tap of your fingers and it’s affordability. Besides, you’re able to hide the shame of having to expose your problems to someone you may or may not know physically. Sounds good, right? But, do you know the repercussions of taking online legal advice? It may be more damaging than you think. Let’s take a look.

When sharing your issue online, there’s always a risk of data breaches that may be due to compromise of software systems. You should be careful about sites that have no data regulation mechanisms in place thus exposing the information you provide to third- parties. Most legal cases are sensitive and their leakage can be quiet disastrous. This mainly reflects on personal information you give such as names and any information that identifies you.

Online legal advice faces the risk contract breaches due to failure to apply reasonable skill while providing the service. In some extreme cases, it might be customer service attendant answering your questions and not an experienced lawyer thus poor advice. Worse still, you cannot prove the credibility of a firm through its sites only and some of the information posted as it may not reflect the actual nature of the firm. Poor analyses of your situation may thus contribute to a breach of contract.

When giving information or seeking advice, individuals may take to post a negative image of other companies or individual they are against even when there’s no proof of what they claim. For example, it could be a customer airing grievances against a supplier to taint his image. It might also be a competitor outdoing their rivals through false complaints. As a word of caution, legal firms offering online advice should conduct due diligence through prior review before any publications.
