Information System can be defined as that socio-technical subsystem of an institution, which comprises all information processing as well as the associated human or technical actors in their respective information processing roles. + Socio Technical Subsystem Sociotechnical systems (STS) in organizational development is an approach to complex organizational work design that recognizes the interaction between people and technology in workplaces. “Socio-” refers to the people involved in information processing (e.g., health care professionals, administrative staff, and computer scientists), whereas “technical” refers to information processing tools (e.g., computers, telephones, and patient records).
