EDU645: Learning & Assessment for the 21st Century (NMD1840A) Dr. Julie Adkins My name is Cynthia McCoy. I would like to welcome everyone to the class as we share and get to know each other well.

An explanation of which MAED Program Learning Outcome(s) most intrigues you, and how that outcome you selected will contribute to your career. The MAED program learning outcome that most intrigues me is to design a unique evidence based assessment program that enhances and facilitates evaluation of the students’ academic progress. Consequently, it helps both the students and educators to in critical decision making. The outcome will always embrace the relationship between learners and educators thus the ability to enhance effective learning. Equally, the evidence based assessment design will help in the creation of a safe and positive learning environment that will accommodate all the learners despite their individual learning styles and abilities

An explanation of your understanding of assessment and why it is important in education Assessment is basically the evaluation process, which enables educators to know what the learners know or have learned and where to put additional instruction based on their strengths and weaknesses. This gauging process is fundamental to education because it enables both the learners and educators to meet the educational goals. With the help of Dr. Julie, we will gain a lot throughout this course as we champion our career goals. Thank you and let’s get started. Good luck to everyone!
