PE and Sports premium statement 2017-18 The premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, in the 2017 to 2018 academic year, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. Key achievements to date: Areas for further improvement:  Majority of children can swim at least 25m by Year 6 Well attended sports day Support from PASS with teaching high quality PE sessions  More children to achieve water safety award by Year 6 Increased challenge for Sports day Improve capacity to support mental well being Promote competitive sports All equipment to match National Curriculum expectation After-school clubs to promote a range of sports and activities

Swimming achievements Meeting national curriculum requirements for swimming and water safety Please complete all of the below*: What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres? 86% What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort use a range of strokes effectively [for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke]? What percentage of your current Year 6 cohort perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations? 22% Schools can choose to use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to provide additional provision for swimming but this must be for activity over and above the national curriculum requirements. Have you used it in this way? Yes/No   Children go swimming as part of the National Curriculum in Year 4 and are working towards being able to swim 25 meters. Next Steps – to look in to ensuring all children by Year 6 can achieve their 25m and assess when and how we go swimming.
