What is PE ? to be active to learn how to be fit Physical Education to be active to learn how to be fit to learn about the body and how it moves using different equipment

Know what 3 days you come to PE WHY ???

So when you wake up in the morning you know what to wear to school

Wear shorts or pants. Girls if you wear a dress or skirt, wear shorts under dress.

sandals boots high heeled shoes are DANGEROUS TO WEAR

Wear Tennis Shoes!

When entering the gym for PE: Walk in quietly Make sure shoes are tied Sit in assigned place Sit criss-cross applesauce Hands in your lap Be ready to listen to the teacher

Rules for Walking in the Gym Walk do not Run. Keep hands and feet to yourself Stay off/away from the equipment Keep hands and feet off the walls; t Do not touch the fire alarm boxes

If you do not follow the PE Rules or you misbehave, you will sit in time-out behind the RED LINE _____________________ and get a in the grade book

What does a mean? E = no checks (outstanding behavior) S = 1 or 2 Note sent home to parents to be signed U = 4

You Receive 3 Grades on Your Report Card from your PE Teacher Conduct Grade * how you behave * how many checks do you have PE Grade * did you try your best ? * did you participate ? Health * participate in discussion and activity

Excused Note If you are sick If you are injured OR If you cannot play in PE you must bring a note from your parent/guardian, doctor, or have on a “No PE” sticker from the nurse.

If You Come Late to PE class, Please Do The Following: Find a coach as you enter the gym Say “Hello” to the coach and explain why you are late (show note from teacher) Ex. “Hi Coach, sorry I’m late, but I was finishing up a test.” The coach will then explain to you what the activity is-this way you’ll know what to do!

Place your sweaters, jackets and coats in the designated area if you want to take them off during PE

Bathroom and Water Fountain You should have gone to the bathroom and gotten a drink of water before entering the Red Zone; if not then you… Must ask teacher/coach to get a drink of water Must ask teacher/coach for permission to go to the bathroom

During Recess: If we are having class on the hardtop please stay off until our classes are over DO NOT kick or throw or ‘slam’ anything against the garage doors DO NOT play with any PE equipment that has been brought outside for PE classes

Ways to Be A Good Sport 1. Cheer on your teammates 2. Always treat your teammates and opponents the way you would like to be treated 3. Play by the rules 4. Wait your turn 5. Never put down or make fun of others

A Good Sport is Always a Winner 6. Congratulate the other team if you lose 7. Say “good game” to other team if you win 8. Doesn’t matter if you win or lose, if you had fun, you WON! A Good Sport is Always a Winner

If you had fun, you won!
