We are Cheryl Rooyakkers & Meghan Squarebriggs Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Hello! We are Cheryl Rooyakkers & Meghan Squarebriggs Technology Teacher & Gr. 7/8 Teacher @ Molly Brant ES LDSB You can find us at: Cheryl Introduce self rooyakkersc@limestone.on.ca @RLdsd squarebrigm@limestone.on.c a @Ms_S78_LDSB

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R What are Meg Introduce the HypreDoc Ladies (Lisa Highfill, Kelly Hilton & Sarah Landis) Def: HyperDocs are Google Docs, with interactive elements, designed to replace the worksheet method of delivering instruction. By sharing a link to a HyperDoc, teachers can get students thinking, exploring, collaborating, and creating all on their own, shifting teachers from the lecturer to listener. Teachers are now able to personalize the learning experience and better connect with students. They allow students to interact with the Global Competencies - Critical Thinking, Communication, Creativity and Collaboration. Why I love: Personalizes learning Differentiates Student driven Fosters curiosity Gives Ss a degree of autonomy Allows me to engage with my students by listening instead of leading the learning

Beware - Rabbit Hole Ahead!! Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Beware - Rabbit Hole Ahead!! Cheryl Try not to go astray (it is hard) That said, I will honour your learning journey and if you need to fall down that hole, go for it.

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Meg - 2 minutes The main points of this clip is focused on The HyperDoc Handbook. It clearly and effectively lays out how to design and create HyperDocs Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R

Engage Extend Explore Reflect Explain Share Apply Model Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Model Note: The order may vary Engage Extend Explore Reflect Explain Cheryl Briefly cover each stage of the model This is basically the same model you use when creating any lesson plan Start by engaging Ss - use a video or image to capture your students attention builds motivation, establishes relevance. When you are working through the model you are keeping in mind the varying needs in your classroom and that is the beauty you can quickly make changes example would be adding more images and less text, changing the requirements by adding less or more. Share Apply

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Transform the Learning Meg - 5 minutes to look over Hyper docs have the potential to take learners through the SAMR cycle or DOK (depth of knowledge) - this document is a checklist that shows which level you are in, if you wish to use the SAMR model Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R SAMR Meg SAMR is a model designed to help educators infuse technology into teaching and learning. The model supports and enables teachers to design, develop, and infuse digital learning experiences that utilize technology.

HD Cycle & Suggested Tools Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R bit.ly/hyperdocedtechtools HD Cycle & Suggested Tools Meg - 10 minutes to explore Be aware of what apps are and are not supported by LDSB That being said there is a wealth of resources in this HyperDoc template for you to explore. If you aren’t sure how to use an app - let the kids explore it.

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Meg - 5 minutes As Lisa Highfill says it is a lesson that is designed by you. Here are a few introduction videos for creating HyperDocs from Lisa Highfill. Check out her YouTube channel and go to Playlists at the top. There is a playlist of videos to create HyperDocs or MultiMediaTextSets Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R

Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R Meg - 10 minutes Mostly looking at 3 and 5 Design w your Ss in mind- For Ss with special needs → Less words, more images, less choices (3 vs 6) Be aware of fonts-2 max per HD, color issues- dyslexia, etc Slide Deck at: https://bit.ly/2IGYm1R
