Important Stories Thor’s Duel With Hrungnir Geirrod Fishing for Jomungard Thor’s Duel With Hrungnir Hrungnir was in a horse race when he accidentally crossed into the God’s land. The gods invited him to drink with them. He soon became drunk and started to threaten the gods. They sent for Thor to protect them. Thor and Hrungnir get in a fight and Thor kills him with his hammer. Geirrod The god Loki was captured by a giant and held captive. The giant forced Loki to coax Thor into coming to the giants home so he could kill him. On the way to meet the giant, Thor was warned and given weapons by an other giant who was friends with the gods. Thor meets the giant and escapes from a surprise attack and kills him. Fishing for Jomungard The gods were going to have a feast but needed a cauldron from the giant Hymir because he was the only person with a cauldron big enough. Thor went to get it and when he went to Hymir’s home he ate all of his food. So they went out fishing. Thor rowed out to waters that were the home of Jomungard to try and catch and kill him. After he caught him and was about to strike, Hymir got scared and cut the line so Thor got mad and threw Hymir overboard. Thor then took the cauldron and went home. norse-mythology.org
