Meet the Gods and Goddesses Come explore the amazing world of Greek and Roman mythology. We will be learning many interesting facts about the 12 Olympian gods and goddesses, and you will see why so much great literature was inspired by these mythological beings.

Apollo son of Zeus and Leto twin brother of Artemis god of music, poetry, medicine, and the sun could not speak a lie tree: laurel

Ares son of Zeus and Hera disliked by both parents god of war, hatred, and violence was known for his short temper bird: vulture animal: dog

Artemis daughter of Zeus and Leto twin sister of Apollo goddess of hunting and the moon tree: cypress animals: all wild animals

Athena daughter of Zeus sprang from his head in full armor goddess wisdom, war, and the Arts Zeus’s favorite child tree: olive bird: owl allowed to use thunderbolt
