Its name comes from the French language and it was made popular by the French in Aragón in the 19th century. Guirlache is a sort of nougat,very similar to Provençal nougat,a sweet made of almonds or walnuts and honey.

THE RING-SHAPED CAKE
It’s a typical Aragonese cake, it is a sweet calce with a ring shape decorated with sweet fruit slices on top with colourful decoration. It’s usually eaten on January 6th. This cake, called “roscón” in Spanish, hide a little surprise, usually a porcelain or plastic figure.
