BIM & GIS open interoperability solution of “PANTURA” Dr. Rizal Sebastian, Dr. Michel Böhms, Ing. Pim van den Helm (TNO)

Multi-level decision-making

Integration of data & IT tools Inter-operability between BIM & GIS data, planning & decision tools

Integration of data & IT tools Urban Strategy by TNO: 3D interactive planning tool showing traffic, noise, safety, pollution consequences of design/planning decisions

Integration of data & IT tools RE Suite by DEMO Consultants: real estate asset management tool incorporating multi-criteria and multi-actor decision-making processes

Integration of data & IT tools

Integration of data & IT tools

Verification through case studies Case 1: La Palma, Spain Assembly of a prefab composite bridge

Verification through case studies Case 2: Rotterdam, The Netherlands Major refurbishment of a main traffic bridge

Case 1: La Palma, Spain Modelling of on-site assembly scenarios

Case 1: La Palma, Spain GIS data

Case 1: La Palma, Spain Traffic & noise analysis

Case 2: Rotterdam, NL

Case 2: Rotterdam, NL

Case 2: Rotterdam, NL GIS maps (shp files) & CityGML 3D GIS models

Case 2: Rotterdam, NL Traffic & noise analysis

PANTURA achievements Resolving challenges of open-interoperability Open BIM (open standard IFC). Open GIS (open standard CityGML). Connection with an analytical planning tool, such as the Urban Strategy. Connection with a decision-support tool, such as DEMO RE Suite, comprising KPIs and end-user’s criteria.

PANTURA achievements Input for open BIM and GIS standardization PANTURA ICT architecture –including conversion steps of BIM and GIS data. Development of PANTURA ADE (Application Domain Extension). Configuration and deployment of Deegree 3D server with CityGML data. Incorporation of “disturbance” indicators and analyses through BIM and GIS.
