Tegrity’s Impact Tegrity has been a great asset for me and for my students! Over two semesters, enrollment in the class that I used Tegrity in tripled! Fall 2009: 22 students enrolled Spring 2010: 37 students enrolled Summer 2010: 67 students enrolled (Previous average for this course was 23 students)

Digital Capture equipment at MCC SMART Technologies Interactive Whiteboards: MCC Has both 4:3 and 16:10 versions, however Currently we only invest in 16:10. SMART Technologies Interactive Slates/ SMART Podiums: Used in many different disciplines. Ex. Geoscience and Physical Education

What do I do with this “stuff”? “Stuff” has different meanings to faculty: It is either the hardware they use or the content they create My job as a technologist is to show the faculty how they can use the hardware and what they can create with it Get beyond terms like “stuff” or “this thing”

What content do we create? Digital notes- PDF, PowerPoint, SMART Notebook Some Lecture capture Digital versions of lectures via Interactive Whiteboards, and Document Cameras Use digital equipment as teaching tools, ex. Collaboration, video conferencing

OK, I created content, now what? We taught them how to use the equipment to create the technology Now the Faculty will work with our Instructional Designers to learn what to do next The key is to be there for the faculty every step of the process from how to use the hardware, create the content with the hardware, and then use the content

What’s next? Continue to work with faculty as we move forward with more Interactive Whiteboard installations and online offerings increase We have created a “Safe Room” for faculty Work on projects incorporating Mobile Devices into content creation, ex. iPad integration.
