There are many words that tell about books and help you understand how a library is organized. Let’s look a just a few.

The cover of a book protects the pages.

The author is the person who writes the book.

The illustrator is the person who is responsible for the pictures in the book.

The company that makes the book is called the publisher.

The title page is one of the first pages in a book. It usually tells the title, author, and the publisher of the book.

The copyright date tells the year the book was printed.

The spine of the book holds the pages together.
