Epic Past Appointment Scheduling Reasons why it may be necessary to create an appointment with a past date to maintain accurate appointment statistics include: Patients that have been seen by the provider, but did not have a scheduled appointment. Recovery following downtime.
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling When it’s necessary to schedule an appointment with a past date in Scheduling, the steps are the same as entering a regular appointment. When you enter a past date, you will receive two warning messages. The first will appear when you select the past date in the Make Appointment Window. To continue scheduling appointments with a past date, answer “Yes” to “Do you wish to continue?”
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling The warning sign appears again when you select the time slot. To continue scheduling appointments with a past date, click “OK”.
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling Scheduling a past appointment will automatically display an Appointment Status window. Use this window to record the actual appointment status for your statistics for the patient and your Practice. Click on the magnifying glass or press F5.
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling Select the appropriate outcome of the past appointment. Note: For visits to interface to other systems, the appointment must be scheduled and checked in. Consider this workflow when choosing the appointment status.
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling Click Accept to complete the process.
Epic Past Appointment Scheduling When the appointment has been defined with the Visit Type, Provider/Resource, Date, appointment time and outcome, the appointment selection process is the same as scheduling future appointments. Since the appointment has already occurred, you can click Accept on the appointment review and update the appointment information screen as needed.
