Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests - Aaron and Aaron's sons, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. (Exodus 28:1-2)

And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. (Exodus 28:2)

These are the garments that they shall make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a coat of checker work, a turban, and a sash. They shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to serve me as priests (Exodus 28:4) Shorts (28:42) Made of linen Reach from hip to thigh Would die if not wearing them

Coat (28:39) Linen Checkerwork Robe of the Ephod (31:35) All Blue Opening in the middle One long piece Pomegranates and bells on the hem Sash (28:39) Embroidered with needlework

Ephod (28:6-13) Blue/purple/scarlet yarns Two shoulder pieces An onyx stone on each shoulder Each stone had 6 names of the 12 sons of Israel engraved on them Breastpiece of Judgement (28:15-30) Same material as the ephod 4 rows of 3 stones Represents the 12 sons of Israel Each stone was engraved with one of the names of the 12 sons Urim and Thummim over Aaron’s heart

Turban (28:36-39) Fine linen Plate of pure gold on the front Engraved with “Holy to the Lord” Details Settings, rings, chains, ropes, strings Mostly for connecting pieces of the garments together. Even though small, everything had to be done as God commanded Just like in the AFI, these things were mandatory The authority how, when, and why to wear it came from God

Clothes Make the Man Was it the garments that made Aaron a priest? They did identify him to the people as one

you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ (I Peter 2:5)

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, (Ephesians 6:13-17)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-23) By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. (John 13:35)

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (I Corinthians 13:4-7)

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:14-16)

How do your Spiritual garments identify you?
