Managing Work Life Blend Balance vs Blend

Managing the Work Life Blend Creating YOUR Work Life Blend 1. Prioritizing your needs What key ingredients make my WLB complete? 2. Focus on Your Own Rules What WLB is best for me? What do I need to achieve this for me?

Managing the Work Life Blend 3. Focus on Achievement not Time Am I happy with how things are going at work? In my relationships? If you’re happy with where you are you’re managing the WLB. 4. Change the Blend Am I thinking big picture when I’m feeling like I’m not achieving WLB? If something isn’t working – change it! that’s the best part about blending vs. balancing.

Self Care Defined Is it another “buzz word”? Do I HAVE to do it? How do I do it? By definition is any intentional action you take toward your own physical, mental and emotional well-being.

Skeptical? Self Care is not pampering or self-indulgence. It’s not thinking “what can my employer do for me?” It’s about focusing on how we can best meet our own needs.

Self Care 101 Sleep Eat well Be physically active Use alcohol in moderation or not at all Take regular breaks from stress Laugh every day Go to the doctor for regular check ups and/or when needed.

Self Care Examples An Afternoon Nap Camping (being outside/active)

Self-Care Examples Going fishing Eating healthy

Self Care Examples Play…Have Fun Go for a walk

My Self Care Plan (Work & Home) If I become exhausted, emotional, or angry I can talk to my friends I can take a break I can exercise or go for a walk I can eat something healthy…or un healthy I can take a nap I can watch something funny or entertaining I can play with my pet or child I can ….. Self care - A prescription often not filled because it requires hard work and perseverance.
