The Yokai The word means “otherworldly” and “weird”. Yokai range from the malevolent to the mischievous, or occasionally bring good fortune to those who encounter them. Often they posses animal features, and other times they can appear mostly human. Others look like inanimate objects or have no discernable shape. They usually have some supernatural power, with shapeshifting being one of the most common.
