J.V. and Varsity Boy’s Soccer

Layout and Design Principles Captions are located next to the picture Headline Eye-line, to give the eyes a break Same shape as the dominate photo Contrasting the dominate photo Dominate Photo

Steps ….. The Dominate Photo Must be at least 2.5 times larger

Contrasting the Dominate Photo Steps….. Contrasting the Dominate Photo The opposite shape of the dominate

Repeat the Dominate Shape Steps….. Repeat the Dominate Shape Same as the dominate, but smaller

Steps….. Create a Eye-Line Eye-Line,

Steps….. Add in Headline Copy Extra picture space

Finished Product…..

How I Chose My Pictures….. Action shot See if it is dominate worthy. Equally represent everyone Based off of the shape of the picture.

My Best Caption….. Five W’s, a quote, and the ending score

Strengths….. Special effects Every caption is probably spaced Everything is a pica apart. The back ground is unique The copy is personal. There is a strong dominate photo.

The Troubles….. It was hard to find photos Good side-bar. Own page numbers J.V. teammate

Improve…… 1.) Added more photos. 2.) Equally represented both teams. 3.) Caption in the bottom left corner.

Comments….. I had a blast working on this spread. The reason why I enjoyed working on this spread so much I believe is because I understand what is happening in soccer, so I can add more detail of what is happening in the photo. By working on a sport you know, it makes it easier on yourself when it comes to captions, and when it comes to pictures. It also helped knowing more than half of the players on the team, therefore identifying was easy also. I also had a lot of fun working on the background. I wanted to come up with a unique and creative background that would make my spread stand out.
