COMPETITIVE EVENTS PROGRAM UPDATE 2018-2019 We do have some changes to competitions this year. We will speak more about these at WorkWinWow and the Competition Workshop in September but wanted you to be aware of a few changes

GA DECA Competition Updates GA Only Testing- 6 events (keeping Middle School marketing test) Continuing Online Written Manuals Advisors working Competitions at State CDC will receive 1 free chaperone registration Region Winners and TDM Participants must score 60% or higher on State Test in January. TDM must score an average of 60% Integrated Marketing Campaign & Professional Selling Testing will take place in January. IMC Events must score an average of 60% We will continue to offer the Middle School Marketing Exam in September as part of our GA Only Testing Events We will continue to submit Written Manuals online We encourage all advisors to work competitions at State CDC, we will be providing 1 chaperone registration for advisors working Competitions. Please know that it does take a lot of people to work and we really need your help! Last year we started a minimum testing score for Region and State Testing. This year there is a little change- we won’t be looking at region test scores, all students who test at region will be allowed to role play at region. All region winners and those participating in the TDM, Integrated Marketing Campaign and Professional Selling events will test in January and must score 60% or higher in order to compete at State. For events with more than 1 team member, the team must score an average of 60% or higher. This means that students can do region events and if they do not win at region, they can do either TDM, IMC or Professional Selling in January.
