AGENDA BUILDING THE FUTURE. TOGETHER.

ABOUT US We deliver geoenergy fields for ground source heating and cooling especially for large properties and industries, and provide consulting services for geoenergy projects. Our services range from consulting with regards to geoenergy solutions to ground analysis and installation.

MISSION & VISION OUR MISSION is to improve energy self-sufficiency. OUR VISION is to provide the best customer experience in the energy sector.

ROTOTEC – CLEVER GEOENERGY PIONEER OUR VALUES INNOVATIVE & BRAVE Adding our ideas to save money and the environment on existing energy solutions. HONEST Long-term thinking and customer benefit are keys to success. CUSTOMER FOCUSED It’s our job to identify the customers’ needs and fulfill them.

Energy wells drilled in Nordic countries ROTOTEC IN NUMBERS 35 000 Energy wells drilled in Nordic countries 42 M€ Turnover 70 People employed 43 Modern drilling units Geoenergy has an established position in a sustainable society today and in the future. By storing, and saving energy, we can save both money and environment.

That marked the beginning of Rototec’s path to becoming the largest geoenergy company in Europe. The growth of the company is based on strong organic growth as well as acquisitions. ROTOTEC.FI YOUR ENERGY. BEST ENERGY.

Our presence in Nordic countries Rototec is the market leader in large properties and the preferred partner in all of our markets. We operate in Finland, Sweden and Norway and manage Europe’s largest drilling equipment of geoenergy.

Rototec sites near major cities Independent, renewable and cost-effective geoenergy.

What is geoenergy? Geoenergy is renewable energy from sun which is stored to ground and also geothermal heat conducting from deep bedrock. Geoenergy can also be used as cooling energy. 100 m 7 °C 200 m 9 °C 300 m 11 °C 400 m 13 °C 500 m 15 °C 600 m 17 °C Picture: Temperature of the soil is depending on local weather conditions and thermal gradient of the bedrock.

Free cooling +1 °C +4 °C +15 °C +10 °C Average temperature of the energy well is usually between 0 – 8 °C Brine is used as source of cooling At the same time, heat energy is stored into ground. Cost for cooling is only the electricity for the circulation pump

Environmental politics in Nordic countries Sweden 2020 Renewables to 55 % of primary energy 2030 Lower green house gases 40 % compared to 1990 No fossil fuels in transport sector Finland 2029 No coal Half the usage of imported oil Renewables in transport sector to 40 % No oil for heating in government buildings 2025 Denmark 2030 No coal No oil for heating 2050 No fossils used Norway 2020 Heating oil ban 2030 Carbon neutral

Price of energy 65 €/MWh The price of district heating has doubled since 2001, and will continue to rise also in future. 50 €/MWh 20 €/MWh

Geoenergy as Investment Geoenergy investment is approximately 30–70 €/m2 (1-2% of total cost). Larger system is more cost efficient. Return of investment varies from 6 to 20% depending on project. Geoenergy investment is approximately 30–70 €/m2 (1-2% of total cost). Cost is affected by heating need of the building, heat distribution, peak power need, GSHP share of peak power and size of property. Investment cost / warmed area m2. Return of investment varies from 6 to 20% depending on project.  Profit is better eg. with underfloor heating, cooling used, system optimization, system monitoring and usage optimization

Environmental politics in China 2020 (13FYP) Renewables to 55% of primary energy Reduce carbon intensity by 18% compared with 2015 Energy consumption ceiling set at 5 billion tonnes of coal equivalent Renewables to 15% of primary energy 1 100 000 000 square meters to geoenergy heating and cooling China 2030 Renewables to 20% https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/03/china-ratifies-paris-climate-change-agreementhttps://www.chinadialogue.net/blog/8728-China-maps-out-development-for-the-next-five-years/en
