The Canada Forum on Geospatial Standards Purpose Collaboration : All stakeholders - people/expertise, standards, technologies, operational policies, and governance with a focus on standards . Issues: Refine a set of priority issues that will guide innovative development in Canada through collective action. Awareness: Increase awareness of the benefits of using geospatial standards across all sectors, especially new and emerging sectors and markets Value Chains: Define value chains in various thematic domains (e.g. Survey and Mapping, Environmental Monitoring, Agriculture, Maritime, Energy and Utilities) and explore means of better connecting multiple communities of practice to reduce duplications, increase efficiency and improve the return on investment, Capacity : Increase Canadian geomatics expertise and contribute to Canada’s future geospatial capacities Remote Communities: Empower Canadian remote communities through online collaborations.
