Key Considerations for your fleet Electric Buses Key Considerations for your fleet

Agenda Motiv Intro (2 mins) Electric vs ICE Sample Electric Chassis Overview 3 Key Considerations: Range, Charging & Total Cost of Ownership Specifications Recap Case Study: City of Mountain View / Google

All-Electric Specialists for Class 4-8 Applications

Motiv powered Shuttle Buses Champion Challenger Ford E450 Chassis Body Built by: Champion, MI, USA Assembled in USA >90% components manufactured in USA

Motiv powered Shuttle Buses Starcraft eQuest XL Ford F59 Chassis Body Built by: Starcraft, IN, USA Assembled in USA >90% components manufactured in USA

Motiv powered Shuttle Buses Hometown Trolley Villager Ford F53 Chassis Body Built by: Hometown Trolley, WI, USA Assembled in USA >90% components manufactured in USA

EV vs ICE THE NOT SO OBVIOUS THE OBVIOUS Batteries and Motors Takes longer to “fill up” Quieter Range limited On site charging infrastructure THE NOT SO OBVIOUS Lots of computers and electronics Most modern systems have no transmission, no real gears Regenerative Braking A LOT less vibration EVs are heavy! MUCH easier to maintain Advanced Telematics

Sample Electric Chassis Overview At Motiv we make electric trucks. More specifically, we make the Motiv Electric Truck Platform so that the existing truck manufacturing, sales, and service ecosystem can turn dirty, noisy, expensive trucks into clean, efficient, green trucks. The change to electric cars is obvious and now inevitable, and Motiv is the company to have figured out the technology and process to take that radical change to the $300 Billion truck market. The Motiv Electric Truck Platform consists of Motiv’s controllers and their software, paired up with batteries, motors, accessories, cables and brackets into a kit that is installed on a standard OEM chassis – like this Ford F59 shown here. The resulting Ford chassis is now 100% electric, and can be used in many of the same applications as its fossil fuel counterpart. The user then gets the exact truck they want in their with the incredible benefits of it being electric. Power Control Unit – Intelligently manages all other power electronics including batteries and controllers Traction Motor – 240HP. No transmission, direct drive. Adaptive Power Converters –DC-DC converters convert voltages between battery, DC link, inverter for optimal performance. 1 per battery + 1 for accessories power supply. Motiv Charger – Capability to do 50kW! Currently utilizing 25kW charging station.

Other Deployments Are they always a great success? No Real life range well below advertised Range loss in extreme weather Range loss in hilly terrains Poor reliability of non powertrain components – chassis and bodies Weight issues

Your Project: 3 Key Considerations Range Charging Total Cost of Ownership

RANGE – What’s Available Today MEDIUM size buses: 75-100 miles (100-125 kWh) FULL size buses: 200+ miles (200+ kWh) Transit buses, airport terminal to terminal transportation, etc. Paratransit buses, “last-mile” on demand transportation, airport parking / hotel shuttles, corporate and university campus shuttles

RANGE – What to Expect? Real Life range can vary SIGNIFCANTLY based on: Route profile Ambient Temperature Driver Behavior HVAC Other loads

RANGE – Route Analysis Recommended Review exact mileage and road gradients Shifts look for “opportunity charging” windows

CHARGING LEVELS 1.44kW to 1.92kW 3.1kW to 19.2kW 50+ kW Level 1 – Not strong enough for buses Level 2 Charging Good balance between charging speed and cost for MEDIUM size buses Level 3 (DC Fast Charging) Ideal for FULL size transit buses. Cost prohibitive for most MEDIUM size applications At Motiv we make electric trucks. More specifically, we make the Motiv Electric Truck Platform so that the existing truck manufacturing, sales, and service ecosystem can turn dirty, noisy, expensive trucks into clean, efficient, green trucks. The user then gets the exact truck they want in their with the incredible benefits of it being electric. 1.44kW to 1.92kW 3.1kW to 19.2kW 50+ kW

CHARGING – Level 2 Example 0 to 50% in 2.5 hours 0 to 75% in 4.5 hours 0 to 100% in 6-8 hours 130-140 daily miles possible with a 75 mile vehicle with intelligent scheduling using opportunity charging At Motiv we make electric trucks. More specifically, we make the Motiv Electric Truck Platform so that the existing truck manufacturing, sales, and service ecosystem can turn dirty, noisy, expensive trucks into clean, efficient, green trucks. CHARGING – Infrastructure Do you have the right power available at your depot that is required by your chosen Electric Bus provider? Do you have ENOUGH power to support multiple buses? What would it take to get back-end upgrades involving your local utility? What cost and timeline would this add? Prepare early! At Motiv we make electric trucks. More specifically, we make the Motiv Electric Truck Platform so that the existing truck manufacturing, sales, and service ecosystem can turn dirty, noisy, expensive trucks into clean, efficient, green trucks. Total Cost of Ownership High Upfront Cost BUT 75-85% savings in Operating Costs 50-67% savings in Maintenance Costs At Motiv we make electric trucks. Key Specifications Besides the usual: Range: specify route and HVAC load expectations Charging capability Battery Warranties: Cycles, not Miles Batteries: Custom packs or off-the-shelf? Other key components: Motor, Software and HVAC Weight Rating: Avoid after market conversions At Motiv we make electric trucks. Case Study: Mountain View/Google Buses As further evidence that our strategy is working, currently every commercially-available electric truck model today uses the Motiv Electric Truck Platform. Here are six Motiv-powered trucks and buses built by different vehicle builders who all specialize in one vehicle vocation. All of these vehicles use the same Motiv technology “under the hood”. During the new vehicle’s manufacture, Motiv’s all-electric powertrain replaces the fossil fuel engine, transmission, fuel and exhaust systems to make these vehicles zero-emission electric versions of their fossil fuel relatives.

Motiv EVs vs Other EVs Proven Chassis and Body - Fleets get proven Ford chassis and Utilimaster bodies. Ford eQVM, CARB and GSA approval - Only all-electric technology with Ford eQVM approval for Class 4-6. First and only so far to get 2018 and 2019 CARB approval. Also now on GSA! NTEA WTS 2017 NTEA WTS 2018

Motiv EVs vs Other EVs Scalable/modular approach with increased reliability Instead of 1 large battery, we use several battery packs - Better weight distribution, higher reliability, cheaper long term battery replacement, easy to add batteries in the future b) Instead of connecting batteries in parallel, we independently control them Others Fewer, larger battery packs often linked directly to motor controller Less control over battery degradation and effects on vehicle performance Less modular, less flexible, and less balanced Motiv Multiple battery packs with an Adaptive Power Converter (APC) per battery pack Independent control over charge and discharge; degradation and faults do not effect performance

Motiv EVs vs Other EVs Safe, Proven and Fully Recyclable Batteries Manufactured by FZSONICK in Italy since early 2000s for mobility and storage applications >200 million miles in service Other customers include IVECO (DHL trucks), IRIZAR (European coach maker), ENEL, EDF, Bombardier etc Fully recyclable No loss in performance -40F to 120F Larger Motor, No Transmission and Smoother driving - Our larger-than-most motor and patented control system provides a better driving experience. Happy customers! >95% uptime at AmeriPride for many months. 100% of surveyed drivers rated experience 4/5 or above. Financially Stable partners and business model!
