Researchers cannot control all factors Companies differ in many ways Discover and use what’s best for your company Flexible schedules and dress codes

Is it a reality? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RALxblFgME8 Over the past few decades there has been a gradual shift. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpjKEZ_K6Wc As companies downsize and managers retire more and more women and minorities are advancing to management positions. As the glass ceiling breaks, the sensitivity to the diverse workforce must be met by managers Example: understanding and accepting religious holidays and customs.

Activity Respond to the following scenarios in your notebook. Explain if a person who does a job well but has poor “people” skills would make a good manager. Should a manager fire a well-liked employee who is not performing well or keep the employee in order not to upset the other workers? Explain your answer
