Foliated Metamorphic Rock Def: Grains arranged in layers or bands that split into layers Examples: Slate Schist Gneiss

Original Rock New Metamorphic Rock Heat & Pressure Shale  Slate Shale (sedimentary) changes to Slate when heated & squeezed by pressure.
