Month Year doc.: IEEE 802.11-yy/xxxxr0 Introduction The spec framework 11-09-0992 defines a preamble structure, but many parameters are yet to be defined It seems reasonable to reuse 802.11n parameters as much as possible, for instance: L-STF, L-LTF, L-SIG in every 20 MHz subchannel can be the same as for 11n VHT-SIG-A can use same number of subcarriers as L-SIG VHT-STF can use same number of subcarriers as L-STF CSD values for L-STF, L-LTF, L-SIG for up to 4 transmitters can be the same as for 11n Number of subcarriers and pilots in VHT-LTF and VHT-DATA, including subcarrier locations, can be the same as for 11n HT-DATA for 20 and 40 MHz channels This presentation has strawpolls on all cases listed above Slide 2 John Doe, Some Company

Straw Poll on L-STF Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x L-STF definition: The 20 MHz L-STF pattern in the VHT preamble is as defined in 20.3.9.3.3 of Std 802.11n-2009. Yes: No: Abs: Slide 3

Straw Poll on L-LTF Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x: The 20 MHz L-LTF pattern in the VHT preamble is as defined in 20.3.9.3.4 of Std 802.11n-2009. Yes: No: Abs: Slide 4

Straw Poll on Cyclic Shift Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x: The CSD (Cyclic Shift Diversity) values for up to 4 antennas in L-STF, L-LTF, and L-SIG are the same as the CSD values for the non-HT portion of the packet defined in Table 20-8 of Std 802.11n-2009. Yes: No: Abs: Slide 5

Straw Poll on L-STF and VHT-STF Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x: The number of subcarriers and subcarrier positions of L-STF and VHT-STF are the same as those of the 20 MHz 11n L-STF in each 20 MHz subchannel Yes: No: Abs: Slide 6

Straw Poll on Subcarriers for L-LTF, L-SIG, VHT-SIG-A Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x: The number of subcarriers and pilots, including subcarrier positions, of L-LTF, L-SIG, and VHT-SIG-A are the same as those for the 20 MHz 11n L-LTF and L-SIG in each 20 MHz subchannel Yes: No: Abs: Slide 7

Straw Poll on Subcarriers for VHT-LTF and VHT-DATA in 20 and 40 MHz Do you support adding to the specification framework document (IEEE 802.11-09/0992r9) 3.2.x: The number of subcarriers and pilots, including subcarrier positions, of VHT-LTF and VHT-DATA symbols in 20 and 40 MHz channels are the same as those for 11n HT-LTF and HT-DATA in 20 and 40 MHz channels Yes: No: Abs: Slide 8
