It’s almost time to take the computer-based FSA EOC Assessments! Here are some important explanations and reminders to help you do your very best.

FSA EOC Assessments Test Administration Information The FSA EOC assessments are delivered via a computer-based test (CBT) platform called the Test Delivery System (TDS). Paper-based versions (regular print, large print, braille, and one-item-per-page) of CBT assessments are provided for students with disabilities who cannot access assessments on the computer, as specified in their Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) or Section 504 plans. CBT accommodations (e.g., text-to-speech) are available for students whose IEPs indicate these accommodations. Each assessment is administered in two 90-minute sessions with one session per day over two days. Any student not finished by the end of each 90-minute session may continue working for up to half the length of a typical school day. There are multiple test forms for each assessment, with a maximum of 68 items on each test form. For more information, see the Test Design Summary located on the FSA Portal. CBT Work Folders are provided for each EOC session for students. An example of the work folder is available on the FSA Portal. Scientific calculators are provided as part of the CBT platform for Session 2 only of all FSA EOC assessments. The calculator is available for practice on the FSA Portal. FSA Portal FSA Scientific Calculator Calculator Policies for End-of-Course (EOC) Online scientific calculator provided in the CBT platform for Session 2 of the Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 tests. Online calculator may be accessed in the FSA Portal for use in the classroom. CBT students may request and use a handheld scientific calculator during Session 2. Students with paper-based accommodations must be provided a handheld scientific calculator for Session 2. See below for a list of approved handheld scientific calculators. FSA Portal FSA Reference Sheet http://www.fldoe.org/core/fileparse.php/5663/urlt/FSACalcRefSheetPolicy.pdf FSA Reference Sheet Reference sheets and z-tables will be available as online references (in a pop-up window). A paper version will be available for paper-based tests. Reference sheets with conversions will be provided for FSA Mathematics assessments in Grades 4–8 and EOC Mathematics assessments. For Geometry, and Algebra 2, some formulas will be provided on the reference sheet. For Algebra 1, some formulas may be included with the test item if needed to meet the intent of the standard being assessed. For Algebra 2, a z-table will be available.

Item Types on Tests Editing Task Items To enter responses for editing task items, click the highlighted word or phrase. (Typically, the highlighted word or phrase has a light green background.) Some editing task items require you to enter the replacement word or phrase. Other editing task items require you to select the replacement word or phrase from a menu.

Item Types on Tests Algebra 1 - MAFS.912.S-ID.2.5 Table Item The student types numeric values into a given table. The student may complete the entire table or portions of the table depending on what is being asked.

Item Types on Tests Grid Items with Action Buttons Grid items require using point, line, or arrow buttons to create a response. Some editing task items require you to enter the replacement word or phrase. To add a point, click the Add Point button and then click the location in the grid where the point should appear. To add a line or arrow, click the Connect Line or Add Arrow button and then click on the desired beginning and end points of the line in the grid. To delete a point, line, or arrow, click the Delete button and then click the object you want to remove. (Clicking a point also removes connected lines.)

Item Types on Tests Multiple-Choice Items Multiple-choice items require you to select a single answer option. You may click anywhere on the answer option or click in the circle that contains A, B, C, or D. The selected answer circle becomes shaded. Click on the answer option or row to select it as your answer

These are different from multiple-choice items, which allow you to select only one response. Some items may ask you to select a specific number of responses. Multiselect items are worth one point. Multiselect items DO NOT have partial credit.

Item Types on Tests Equation Editor Item Tutorial Equation Response Items Equivalent fractions and decimals will be accepted except in items that are assessing a standard where a certain form is the expectation of the standard. A zero in the ones place for answers that fall between -1 and 1 (excluding 0 itself) is not required. You can type in an answer using a mixed number or a fraction greater than one. Equivalent algebraic expressions may be accepted except in items that are assessing a standard where a certain form is the expectation of the standard. You should read the directive carefully. If an item requires to write an equation you will not be restricted to give that equation in a certain form unless a form is required by the standard such as items that require to complete the square. You should NOT round midstep. In items where you have to use 𝜋 to find a value, if the item is NOT specific about what value of 𝜋 to use, the student can use the exact value, 3.14 or 22 7 . Test Invalidation Let’s talk about the term test invalidation. It’s important for you to understand what it means so it won’t happen to you! If your test is invalidated, it means that your test will not be scored, and you will not be able to retake the same test during this window. To make sure your test is scored… Remove all electronic devices. If you have an electronic device at your desk, in your pocket, or anywhere you can reach it during testing or while on a break, your test will not be scored. Do your own work. If you are caught looking at another student’s answers, allowing another student to look at your answers, or using any kind of unauthorized aid during the test, your test will not be scored. Don’t be disruptive. If you are disruptive during a test, you may be dismissed from the room and your test may not be scored. It is very important for you to remain quiet, respect other students, and pay attention to and follow the instructions. Don’t leave school during a session. If you leave the school’s campus for lunch or an appointment before you complete a test session, you will not be allowed to finish taking the test when you return.

Testing Rules During the test, you must not: Talk to other students or make any disturbance Look at another student’s computer or device screen or work folder Allow another student to look at your computer or device screen or work folder Ask for help answering any test questions Give help to another student in answering test questions Have any electronic or recording devices, other than the device on which you are testing, in your possession at any time, including breaks, even if you do not use them Fail to follow any other instructions given

REMEMBER… You can take a practice test any time at: http://www.fsassessments.org/students-and-families/practice-tests/ Once you submit a test, you cannot go back into the test. Be sure to check your answers and try to answer every question before submitting your test. During breaks and after testing, it’s important that you don’t talk about the specific test questions with friends, classmates, teachers, or other students. Most Importantly… Get a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast before the test. Relax and do your best!
