2016 Region 6 Membership Goals From the Region Director: Increase Region 6 IEEE membership by 1% over 2015 Exceed Region Senior Member goal to enhance retention Use strategic initiatives From the Membership Development Chairs: Work with each Section to identify needs Assist in the Development of a Section Plan From the Membership Recruitment and Recovery Committee Section Level Goals that role into the Region Goals 11/7/2018

Strategies to Increase Membership Recruiting new members Show them the value of joining IEEE. Use conferences, workshops, events. Advertise. Mouth to mouth Retaining existing members Make them feel welcome. Remind them of the value. Promote services so that they can try. Pay special attention to first-year members Reinstating previous members Know why they left. Understand the reasons and welcome them back. Remind them of the benefits they are missing. Use micro volunteering to recover non renewing members All three necessitate a communication plan The communication plan includes: Tom’s Arrears calling project Personalized communication from the Section

Strategies to Increase Membership Engage Young Professionals by encouraging participation in Micro Volunteering opportunities and various networking opportunities. Provide new ways to engage students, possibly in STEM and industry events. Use Mentornet to engage underrepresented individuals, students, and women to achieve a diversified Region 6 workforce. Establish a micro volunteer list for each Section in the region to write Senior Member endorsement letters. Create additional Micro Volunteering opportunities to engage members at all levels. MentorNet is the E-Mentoring Network for Diversity in Engineering and Science. It's a non-profit organization that provides a mentoring network to advance women and underrepresented individuals to obtain a diversified global workforce. Their communities include: One-on-One E-Mentoring Programs, MentorNet E-Forum, Resources and a Resume Database.

Webinars are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at both 9:00 AM ET and 3:00 PM ET.
