AP Computer Science A Grades 11-12 UC/CSU Approved Prerequisite: B or better in Algebra 2 Description: This course prepares students in the areas of object-oriented and imperative problem solving and design using Java language. Students will study data structures, algorithms, and analysis of potential solutions. Students will develop a greater understanding of mathematical concepts and skills in preparation for advanced programming skill development.
AP Environmental Science Grades: 11-12 UC/CSU Approved Prerequisite: B or better in Biology and Chemistry Description: This class will cover major environmental issues such as acid rain, biodiversity, climate change, and pollution. There will be a large lab component. Students will learn about the environment through first hand observation and hands-on activities.
Dance I Grades: 9-12 UC/CSU Approved Prerequisite: Must earn a C in PE. Must audition first. Description:This course prepares students to participate in various aspects of movement and equipment techniques. The student will obtain aesthetic perception and valuing, creative expression, and will study the heritage and history of dance.
Human Body Systems Grades: 10-12 UC/CSU Approved Prerequisite: Must have taken Principles of Biomedical Sciences Description: Students design experiments, investigate the structures and functions of the human body, and use data acquisition software to monitor body functions such as muscle movement, reflex and voluntary action, and respiration.
ROP Graphic Design Grades: 9-12 UC/CSU Approved Prerequisite: None Description: This course is designed to provide instruction in theoretical and technical skills of advanced digital art and multimedia applications. Students will have extensive hands-on use of computer-based materials to develop multimedia projects based on computer graphic applications.
