Cheetham Community Primary Academy Year 2 Young leaders award!

First we talked about a perfect world. The children chose one thing they would like to change about the world if they could.

We worked in teams to build towers out of newspaper and sellotape. We discussed who was a good leader and the qualities they displayed.

We role played being a good leader and bad leader. Good idea… we could try it your way. He is being so bossy!

… We learned about famous leaders and talked about leaders in our own lives. We noticed how good leaders have the same qualities. David Cameron is the leader of our country but he must listen to what people think. -Aimen Mrs Carter is the leader in our school, she isnt bossy! - Dalin

Each week we tried to do little challenges to be the change we want to see. I tried not to be bossy when we played football.. Seraj I helped my mum do the washing because she was feeling poorly. - Rayhan I picked up some litter I saw in the playground – Humna

We decided to raise money for Kidney Research UK as it is a cause close to our heart. We decided to bake cakes and ask everyone to dress in purple and bring in 50p.

We made use of the qualities we learned about to work as a team!

We advertised our event! We wrote letters to parents and put it posters.

The teachers had to help us sell the cakes as there was so many customers!

We raised over £600 pounds for Kidney Research.
