Structure of the Bagrut 4 Points Students

4 points - The English Bagrut consists of 4 parts: Module C – unseen (100p) This is done at the end of 11th grade. Module D – a literature module which includes: 3 poems and 3 short stories. The literary pieces are studied over a period of 3 years. The Log will be explained separately Module E – unseen (70p) + listening comprehension (30p). This is done at the end of 12th grade. Oral Bagrut – project presentation (60%) + personal interview (40%). The test is done also in the middle of 12th grade but the project is done in the 11th grade. The average of all 4 parts is your final grade in English.

Your Final Grade – 4 Points The Final Bagrut grade is calculated as follows: If you are not satisfied with your Bagrut grade , you can take Moed B in the summer. They will take the highest of the grades. Weight Part 27% each. The written part – External Bagrut Exams C,E 26% The literature Log 20% The Oral Bagrut 40% The Oral bagrut is divided into two parts : Personal Interview 60% Project

The process of learning any literary piece includes: pre reading activity vocabulary and basic understanding questions analysis & interpretation questions + literary terms HOTS – higher order thinking skills Bridging Text and Context - background information related to the literary piece post reading activity Reflection Summative assessment – test on 1-2 pieces

The Structure of the Literature Log in 4 Points. Module D Part 1 - The tests on the 6 literary pieces are 40 % If any of the components are missing you will lose 10 points on one of the graded tasks. Post Reading or Bridging Test on A Summer's Reading 1 10th 40% PR or B Test on Count That Day Lost 2 PR or B Test on The Road Not Taken 3 PR or B Test on Thank You Ma’am 4 11th PR or B Test on Grandmother 5 PR or B Test on The Treasure of Lemon Brown 6 12th

The two other parts Part 2 -The personal response- This is an ungraded part that you must include but if any are missing you will lose 10 points on one of the graded tasks. There is a total of 2 handed in at the end of 11th and 12th grade. Part 3-The internal written Bagrut Exams are part of the total grade of module F but are not included in the log folder. Total 40 %. Part 4 – The 5 book report tests – 2 in 10th grade, 2 in 11th grade and 1 in 12th grade is optional. Total 20%. Part No. Grade % An Internal Bagrut Exam 1 11th 20% 2 12th Book Report tests . We take the best 4 5 10-12   100%

Basic Requirements This new literature module (D) demands a lot of work and organization. It also requires the ability to express yourselves well in English, since most of the questions are open-ended.
