MIPPA Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 Initiated statewide coordinated outreach and enrollment efforts targeting Medicare beneficiaries, especially related to: Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) Low income subsidies (LIS) SeniorCare Level 1 Medicare Part D in rural areas, and Expanded outreach on Medicare’s Prevention and Wellness benefits

Medicare Savings Plans Based on income and assets If eligible, your Medicare Part B premium will be paid for you Some also have co-pays and deductibles paid as well based on income & assets Income Limit: $1,356/month for single person $1,827/month for a couple Asset limit: $7,390 for single person $11,090 for a couple

“Extra Help” (Low-Income Subsidy) Assistance with Medicare prescription drug coverage Reduces Part D premiums, deductibles and co-pays Based on income and assets Income Limit: $1,507 for single $2,030 for couple Asset Limit: $12,320 for single $24,600 for couple

SeniorCare WI Prescription Drug Assistance Program Age 65 and over on Medicare $30 Annual application fee NO Asset limit “Creditable” coverage Level of assistance depends on income May use alone or in addition to Part D Approved now through 2018

Medicare-Covered Preventive Services In 2011 Medicare began covering more preventive services and screenings including an annual wellness visit, vaccinations and more than 15 other tests/screenings – all at low or no cost. Focuses on preventing disease and maintaining proper health so you can live a longer, healthier life. Take advantage of these new preventive services.

Health Promotion Programs Educational programs designed for older people researched and proven effective to help individuals manage their own health and improve their quality of life.   Topics include fall prevention, managing chronic health conditions, living with diabetes and other wellness topics.
