The 18th century campus freshly renovated welcomes students right in the heart of Bordeaux's historical center. O INSPIRING TEACHERS The university is proud of the fine quality of its teaching. Applying for an exchange at University Montesquieu - Bordeaux IV Process explaned on our website > bordeaux4.fr/international/etudiants_etrangers/ bordeaux4.fr/international/etudiants_etrangers/ 1/ See with your university the process to be selectionned for the exchange. 2/ Complete the online application : bordeaux4.moveonnet.eu/moveonline/incoming/welcome.phphttps://u- bordeaux4.moveonnet.eu/moveonline/incoming/welcome.php 3/ Send the application form with the required documents before June 15th (for arrival on September) / November 30th (for arrival on January) to Vanessa Chalumeau. 4/ A confirmation of you selection will be sent to you and to your exchange coordinator. 5/ An admission letter with a package of arrival will be sent to you before your arrival in Bordeaux.

Registration at the university Step 1 Pick up the following documents : O the student card of the home university or whatever document proving registration in the home university, O two stamps, O two ID photos, O a certificate of your home university stating that the student has been selected for the exchange, O a proof of an international insurance cover for the whole academic year (see explanation later). Step 2 Bring the documents together with the application form to the registration office. Step 3 Get your student card. The registration will be into 2 steps : administration first, then the enrollment in the courses.

Academic matters… The total of ECTS credits required by University Montesquieu – Bordeaux IV depends on the total required by the home university. One tutorials in law will be compulsory (= TD). They are not compulsory but highly recommended in Economics, Management and Administration. Timetables will be available online after registration only. An information meeting for all exchange students will be done in order to explain our academic system and give all useful information for the selection of the courses for each semester. Sporting activities are available for exchange students staying for the whole academic year. They begin in the first semester and cannot be started in the second semester. More information on :

Courses at Montesquieu-Bordeaux IV O All our classes are taught in French excepted some courses in English in « applied economics ». A good level of French is so required in order the student can easily take the exams. O The list of courses will be online once the current academic year is over. Lectures contents are available on demand. O For further details, please contact either Mrs Berthe for Law/Pol sc offer, or Mrs NGuessan for Economics/Management/Administration offer.

O Free French classes are offered to all exchange students. Students staying for one full year will be given 5 ECTS for the first semester and 3 ECTS for the second one. Students staying for one semester will receive 5 ECTS. O An intensive period before the beginning of the classes is offered with a rhythm of 2 hours classes during 3 weeks. O The extensive period correspond to 2 hours classes a week during each academic semester. French lessons

IMMIGRATION REQUIREMENTS All non-European students must have a type D visa stamped « Student ». To obtain a visa, go to the French Consulate or French Embassy in your home country or visit the web site From early September to early December, a « resident card » service is available in the city centre to process and check the application files. Further information on: heading « resident card ». Exchange students do not need to get health insurance contract in France only if they already have a health insurance plan in their home university (a proof will be requested for the registration) Students must also have a civil liability insurance. University Montesquieu - Bordeaux IV facilities LIBRARIES 28 libraries and documentation centers provide more than 1700 seats and gather books and 4700 periodicals. Databases and more publications are offered online. FREE FRENCH CLASSES The university offers a 68 hours per year free French course to exchange students: introduction to the French language in an academic context, oral comprehension, French society…etc. TUTORSHIP The International Department joins forces with the student association « Jeunes Européens Bordeaux » to organize a tutorship between French students and exchange students. CULTURAL LIFE The Campuslife Department is dedicated to liven up the university: exhibitions and workshops add to the events and the excursions threw the vineyards organized by the International Department. SPORTS Studying at Université Montesquieu - Bordeaux IV gives access to more than 55 different sports, from rugby to kitesurfing. The University Department for Sport and Physical Activities organizes snowboarding and surfing trips, as well as track meetings all year round.
