Location Describes where places are at on the earth. Two types of Location: ABSOLUTE: exact location on earth (never changes!) RELATIVE: compared to other places (can change depending on what you are comparing)
Absolute Location Types: Examples: Rome is located at 41 N, 12 E Latitude/Longitude Global “Address” Examples: Rome is located at 41 N, 12 E Ecuador is located in Tropic of Cancer.
Relative Location Examples: Libya is located near the Mediterranean Sea. Iraq is near Syria. Egypt is south of Israel. Greenfield is east of Indianapolis.
Place A place is defined by it’s unique characteristics. Physical characteristics Cultural characteristics

HEI Current Enviromental Issues: Climate Change (global warming) Energy Resources Water Conservation Deforestation
Assignment “What does each theme look like?” Use the magazines provided to visually represent one of the fives themes of geography. You can draw or trace the pictures onto your poster. You may ONLY use words to label your collage. Be creative, and thoughtful!
